April/May 2019 Report

"What crazy busy all be it WET spring so far! We have been busy prepping the boats as we began our open water trips in late April. Our Hudson River Striper trips went of with out a hitch, with some really nice fish coming to the net in some of the wettest weather we have witness while on the Hudson! We are now on Champlain dealing with a very high lake level but finding Trout, Salmon as well as Bass & Pike! Give us a shout to get in on Champlain's beauty and world class fishing!"

February/March 2019 Report

"Boy ohh boy has old man winter kept his grip on us here in the Northeast! That has meant some of the BEST ice fishing conditions we have had in years & we haven't been missing out! Ice conditions have varied in many bodies of water as a warm spell in late January halted ice production on many of the valley larger lakes. 20"- 30" of ice on most bodies of water has been common, allowing anglers to travel to varying areas & structure. We have run tip ups catching MANY Pike & Bass as well as picking up a few trophy trout from day to day. Light tackle jigging has found good yellow perch numbers with bluegills & some Crappie rounding out the catch! We have been doing our winter trade show tour, with one more to go in the end of the month. As I write this we also will be beginning our spring Steelhead trips on the Salmon River, so stay tuned for River reports, spring bass fishing & Salmon trolling on Champlain too! We are 90% full for our Hudson River Striper trips, with just a few afternoon dates left so give us a shout! Tight lines!"

January 2019 Report

"Mother nature started off with a traditional winter here in Vermont in early December as many bodies of water began to get safe ice. But the warm spell over the holidays slowed that process a bit. We are in the deep freeze now & all of our waters have safe ice, some enough to ride snowmobiles & ATV's on. We have been getting a nice mix of perch, bass & pike all by jigging & staying mobile! All Bass & Pike released for us to catch again this spring & summer! Show season is upon us as well, off to Harrisburg PA in the first week of Feb! Striper dates on the Hudson River are filling, get yours BEFORE THEY ARE GONE! TIGHT LINES EVERYONE!"

December 2018 Report

"Wrapping up our 2018 Season & what a season its been! We want to thank all of our loyal customers for making it the busiest one yet! We having been running our drift boat trips for steelhead on the Salmon River, introducing new folks to the River & getting the chance to catch up with old friends! We are getting the hard water gear ready for ice fishing, as well as prepping for our winter trade shows! WISHING EVERYBODY A VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY! See you on the water in 2019! Tight lines!"

November 2018 Report

"What a crazy busy fall so far! From Bass & Pike on Champlain, to Waterfowl & Upland Birds in central Vt, to King Salmon fishing on the Salmon River our customers have been enjoying a little of everything! The pre-winter fronts have moved in, greatly cooling off water temps & slowing down our bass & pike trips but revving up the Steelhead fishing on the Salmon River. We are looking at a record run of quality Steelhead and are beginning to fill dates for December. We have dates open right through the Holidays so give us a shout & come enjoy the battle of the Silver billets fresh from the Great Lakes!"

October 2018 Report

"Love, Love, LOVE FALL!! Smoking hot Pike & Bass fishing, beginning of fall waterfowling & HUGE numbers of King Salmon in the Salmon River! Lake Champlain water levels continue to be low but we are finding plenty of Pike & Largemouths on outer weed edges in 10 - 15 feet of water. Great numbers of Woodducks, Mallards, Black Ducks & Teal up & down the Champlain and Otter Creek Valley should make for continued spectacular gunning. As expected a super number of Steelhead entering the Salmon River already, the late fall season should be off the charts! December is one of the best months for excellent steelheading with no crowds! Give us a shout for dates we have left!"

September 2018 Report

"All i can say is WOW!!! The fishing on Lake Ontario is Off The Charts! Huge boxs of Salmon & Steelhead which will ensure phenomanal fishing on the Salmon River this fall & winter! Right now we are back on Champlain in full Bass & Pike mode. Still some GREAT dates for Oct & early Nov left...give us a shout!"

August 2018 Report

"We are full tilt on Lake Ontario the fishing is phenomenal! We still have dates for Lake Champlain and Salmon River for this fall."

July 2018 Report

"We have wrapped up our trolling trips on Champlain & have moved into jigging for Lakers as well as rolling on with our Bass trips! Its been HOT & DRY the last few weeks with water levels dropping & making some days tougher then others. Over cast days with cooler temps have been some great days with a little of everything coming to the net! Early August will see us full on jigging for Lakers before we head for our stint at Lake Ontario!"

June 2018 Report

"JUNE!!....What can we say! What a bonanza of mixed species, cold & warm water! We have taken Landlocked Salmon, Steelhead, Lake Trout, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Pike & Pickerel all in the last Two Weeks!! With out a doubt one of the best times of the year to taste a little of everything that Champlain has to offer!"

May 2018 Report

"Spring has finally arrived & so has great fishing! We have wrapped up our Hudson River Striped Bass Charters with some great fish coming to the net as usual! Lake Champlain....what can i say but its ON FIRE!! Trout, Salmon, Bass or Pike water temps are ideal right now and the lake level is up a bit from last year so great fishing should last well into the summer! 40 - 50 fish on our Bass & Pike trips are not unusual....the time is now! Give us a shout!"

April 2018 Report

"We are just getting back on the water after a LONG winter here in Vermont! We did four trade shows double teaming with Daddy Mac Lures, meeting hundreds of eager fishermen & women who love to talk fishing! We will have our monthly reports beginning in May & carrying right through November. See you on the water!
December fishing report

December 2017 Report

“We have wrapped up our 2017 trips with some traditional Steelhead fishing on the Salmon River. Cold temps & snow are the norm, but good numbers this year!

We will be starting our winter trade show tour in our home state at the Yankee Sportsman Classic in Essex Vermont from Jan. 19th -21st. February will find us at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg Pennsylvania from February 2nd -10th.

Our last show will be the Maine Sportsman Show in Augusta Maine on March 31st and April 1st. Stop on by & check out our full line of Daddy Mac Lures and book your trip for 2018!”

November 2017 Report

"Steelhead fishing on the Salmon River is in full swing and the fishing is as about as good as it can get! Great numbers and plenty of good sized fish to go around. Fish have been taken on egg sacs, beads and plugs, though higher than normal rain fall has had river flows above average. This will translate to excellent Steelhead fishing well into the Holidays!

We have had some of the best Waterfowl hunting we have ever experienced with great numbers of Woodducks, Mallards & Canadian Geese! Hunts in the Otter Creek Valley have produced well, a sharp fall cold front has those birds moved out & flight birds in on Champlain now! We have taken a little break to enjoy some November Deer hunting, but we will be back on the drift boat right after Thanksgiving! We still have some wonderful dates available for December & January Steelhead so give us a shout!"

October 2017 Fishing Report

"We have been full swing on both the Salmon River & Lake Champlain with our busiest fall to date! The Salmon River has seen a record return of King & Coho Salmon & catches have been making for tired arms daily! The unseasonably warm weather has our bass bite on Champlain in a more late summer pattern then fall...But adapting tactics has kept great numbers as we expect from this world class fishery! Not to be forgotten we are just beginning our Waterfowl hunts & have enjoyed some beautiful mornings in the marsh with more to come!"

September 2017 Fishing Report

" All i can say is WOW on Lake Ontario! Some of the best fishing since 2012, crazy numbers & quality fish! This will translate to phenominal fishing on the Salmon river! We are fully booked into late October...but still have some pike trips for Champlain & Steelhead for the Salmon River. Fall is here...fishing is LIGHTS OUT on both Champlain & the Salmon River!"
